Kane commits to Adelaide

Strikers re-sign Richardson for BBL|04

Fast bowler Kane Richardson has re-signed with the Adelaide Strikers for three years.

"I'm excited to be able to commit to the Strikers for the long term," Richardson said. "We get such great support here and have a brand new stadium to play in this season.

"I really want to be involved in a team that has success and I felt we came so close last year.

"I feel like the players we are bringing in are really adding something to the team and hopefully we can make a final."

Richardson has recently returned from a stint with the Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, where he finished the competition with nine wickets at an economy rate of 7.62 in seven matches.

His standout performance was against Bangalore, where he dismissed Yuvraj Singh and AB de Villiers from successive deliveries to finish the match with 2-18.

The 23-year-old was called into the Australian T20 squad for the 2014 series against England and was recently named in the Australia A squad for its Top End tour later this year.

Richardson is the latest addition to the Adelaide Strikers, joining new recruit Craig Simmons as well as returning players Tim Ludeman, Trent Lawford, Jono Dean, Phil Hughes, Michael Neser and Adam Zampa.
