England spinner dumped after missing meeting
Spinner Monty Panesar has been dropped by Essex for disciplinary reasons ahead of the team's County Championship match against Glamorgan.
The Daily Mail reports Panesar was initially named in the side but was later left out after missing a team meeting.
“The England spin bowler was omitted for a time-keeping issue and was replaced by Tom Craddock,” said Essex Cricket, on their website.
Panesar has previously been warned this season about his ‘body language’, the Daily Mailalso reported.
The timing of Panesar’s axing by Sussex for this match is not ideal, with new coach Peter Moores naming England’s Test squad for the upcoming two-match home series against Sri Lanka later this week.
Panesar has taken 19 wickets in six County matches this season.
